IMT, a leader in file based workflows and digital archives upgrades Tennis Channel facility from Standard Definition (SD) to cover Olympus US Open in High Definition (HD).

Tennis Channel, the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and passionate lifestyle of tennis, will air close to 150 hours of live and same-day match coverage during eight tournaments in this summer’s Olympus US Open Series. IMT upgraded the Tennis Channel’s Video Editors systems to Apple’s new Final Cut Pro Suite 2 on Intel based Apple Mac Pro workstations. IMT also moved the Editors primary video editing storage to Apple’s new XSAN 2 from XSAN 1 leveraging the new Promise storage arrays. In addition, IMT put in a new backup and recovery system that leveraged BakBone software and a new robotic LTO 4 data tape library. All of this was done in off hours of a hectic production schedule. This meant close planning between the Tennis Channel technical staff, Production Management, and IMT to assure a smooth transition.
