IMT Upgrades Tennis Channel Facility from Standard Definition (SD) to High Definition (HD) for Olympus US Open

Tennis Channel, the only 24-hour television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and passionate lifestyle of tennis, will air close to 150 hours of live and same-day match coverage during eight tournaments in this summer’s Olympus US Open Series. To prepare for this undertaking, IMT upgraded the Tennis Channel’s Video Editing Systems to Apple’s Final Cut Pro Suite 2 on Intel-based Apple Mac Pro workstations. Leveraging Promise storage arrays, IMT moved the Tennis Channel’s primary video editing storage to Apple’s new XSAN 2 from XSAN 1. IMT also installed a new backup and recovery system utilizing BakBone software and a robotic LTO 4 data tape library. Close planning between the Tennis Channel’s technical staff, Production Management, and IMT assured a smooth transition.
